When to Call 911 or go to the Emergency Room

Life threatening medical & psychiatric emergencies require immediate care. 

  • Illness affecting your entire body, severe pain or sudden onset of severe symptoms
  • Shortness of breath
  • Chest pain
  • Serious burns & cuts
  • Seizures
  • Severe allergic reactions
  • Symptoms of stroke
  • Change in mental status or confusion
  • Loss of consciousness/fainting
  • Multiple injuries or broken bones
  • If pregnant & have vaginal bleeding or pelvic/abdominal pain
  • Suicide risk
