Alpha Chapter of Pi Rho Sigma at Orange Coast College

The purpose of the Alpha Chapter of Pi Rho Sigma at Orange Coast College shall be to promote and recognize scholarly achievement, to facilitate the development of leadership and service to the campus and community, to provide a space for creative thinkers and lovers of the arts to find enrichment through participation and collaboration, to help provide networking opportunities within the industry, and to cultivate a musical presence on this campus with a community of fellow artists.

MEETINGS are held in Music Recital Hall, Room 102; Meeting times for spring 2023 to be announced.

 

MEMBERSHIP 

NOTE to prospective applicants:  please select the ONE membership level in which you have met ALL of the requirements. You are NOT required to start at Initial Membership if you meet all requirements for Permanent status.

Initial Membership:

  • Completed at least 12 units of letter-graded OCC coursework
  • Enrolled in at least six units of letter-graded coursework at OCC
  • In good standing status with the Dean of Student Services' Office and paid the College Service Charge
  • Completed at least one music course (minimum GPA among completed music courses 3.0)
  • Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher in all completed college coursework 
  • Submitted an application and Initial Membership dues payment (see application for amount)

Permanent Membership:

  • Completed at least 12 units of letter-graded OCC coursework
  • Enrolled in at least .5 units of letter-graded OCC coursework
  • Earned a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher in all completed college coursework
  • Completed two or more music courses at OCC (minimum GPA among all music courses 3.0)
  • In good standing status with the Dean of Student Services' Office and paid the College Service Charge
  • Submitted an application with Permanent Membership dues payment (may advance membership from Initial to Permanent status; see application for amounts)
